I’m over the moon that Jessie her OFA results came in today and her hips are evaluated GOOD and her elbows NORMAL. So no hip or elbow dysplasia detected!!! Jessie is also clear of all genetic diseases (embark) and now we can go ahead with having a litter between our handsome Mojo and beautiful Jessie. So exciting❤️❤️❤️

These days this beautiful breed is mostly held as a fantastic family companion. Maybe doing some sports like dock diving, jumping hoops and other agility or putting the nose to work, like trailing, detection, trials, etc.

However the White Swiss Shepherds are like their common ancestors the German Shepherd Dog working dogs developed originally for herding and guarding sheep. And to proof this I found this 1906 cool post card of a public park down in Bruxelles-Laeken with a White Shepherd Dog!!!

A thought, sometimes good to be spoken out loud.

Jessie had it a little rough being sedated for the xrays, but after a good nights sleep ahe was up en running again. The xrays have been send to the OFA for evaluation. I’ve looked at them and I think that, although the positioning could be better, our vet could use some practice maybe, the hips will be Good and the elbows Clear. Which means we can go on and have a date with Mojo sceduled probably somewhere in February. We keep our fingers crossed.

Tomorrow Jessie’s hips and elbows will be xrayed. In order to lay as still as possible she will be sedated. It will take around 2 weeks beforw the results of the OFA are in. But I will get the xrays also and hopefully I can see for myself if she will be fine or not. I also will ask one of the OFA FB for their opinion.
I keep my fingers crossed that all will be okay. I love ❤️ her anyway of course.
