I love this time of the year when all comes in bloom again, the days are getting longer and warmer. Spring also means new life: birds lay eggs, seeds germinate and lambs are born. Here on Sunnyside we have to wait a little bit more before we can welcome Jessies puppies (we are almost 100% certain she is pregnant) and in the meanwhile we enjoy this new season. Because Jane went in heat this week it’s again the girls versus the boys and so I made some pictures of the girls during our walk today. Jessie is Miss Pink & Jane Miss Teal.

It’s a rainy day and so all the dogs are chilling inside. And I am wondering if Jessie is pregnant or not? She looks more ‘round’ and maybe sleeps more, is more telling Jane ‘off’. Two days to go and then we know. This week it’s St Patricks day, when the Irish feel lucky. So who knows we are lucky too:-)
Today (8 March) is International Women's Day, an annual event that celebrates and recognises the achievements of women. And that’s why I made a haiku to honor our two females, Jessie & Jane who will make a positive contribution to the general health of the breed.
And to all the ladies out there I like to say ‘keep up the good work’! We don’t know yet… Jessie seems to be less interacting with the others, she seems to be more quiet, less engaged with what is happing. Mojo is very sweet and gives her kisses in the morning. But maybe it’s wishful thinking. So we don’t know
yet. I will make an appointment for an ultrasound around March 13 to make sure what is going on though. So for now we only can wait and see and we keep our routine which means that Jessie goes wherever we go. |
