After a little over three weeks the pack is together again!!! So I can't be happier. And the dogs are enjoying there 'together' time as well ~(green collar = Mijne, with harnass is Jane, Jessie with dark pink collar & ball and Mojo with no collar or harnass).
Mojo&Jessie had their dates and it looks promising!!! We now have to wait approximately 4 weeks before we can confirm she is pregnant. For now it’s business as usual and we’ll keep our fingers crossed on a positive outcome.
And then you don’t live in a big city and forget all about training your new puppy to get used to walk with a collar and with a harnass. When we lived in The Netherlands we walked and run with Mojo and later also Mijne, in the city, in parks, woods and on the beach. So we learned them to walk with a collar but also with different kind of harnasses, with long leashes, or short, bungee leashes, etc etc. And then one day, so that was yesterday I realized that I forgot to get Jane use to wearing a harnass. And because she loves to run, she’s really fast, I want to train her to go running with me. Maybe even some carni-cross. So today I put on a (old Mijne) harnass on her and after a minute or so she got used to it. So I guess this hurdle is taken and hopefully as of next week we can start training. Btw, because of risk of elbow and hip dysplasia which can also occur when there is to much or mis exercise during a young age, it’s adviced not to start before one year old with running, agility, etc. And even then, these WSS grow untill around 2 years old so untill then caution is adviced.
So i have done some more studying on Jessies prior heats and it seems that day 11 & day 13 or 14 are the days for Jessie and Mojo to have a date. It’s all very exciting:-)
We moved to the B&B so that the boys and Jessie don’t get all crazy about each other. We also had Jane with us for one night but she didn’t feel like having a sleepover.
And bc she isn’t in heat we decided to let her go back. Almost exactly 5 months after her last heat, Jessie came in heat yesterday!!!
In the morning we had a appointment with the vet, to test for worms and heartworm. All was good, but I wanted to make sure Jessie is healthy as can be and that she is ready to carry puppies. After the visit she came in heat. Now we have to wait around 11-12 days, so hopefully around Valentines she and Mojo will have their date (or two). We keep our fingers crossed all goes well. |
