Litter A - Week 3
Day 19, April 9
Venture is doing wonderful. She eats, sleeps and whines when expected:-) She is trying to walk and her eyes are open but not fully focused yet. I stopped getting here weight on a daily basis, I can tell she is growing, so on the scale once per week is sufficient. Last time I weighted her, day 17, she was 1304 grams. Her start weight was 240 grams, so she gained almost 450% which is fantastic.
Her coat is getting plush, and her pigment turned beautiful black now.
This week is all about stimulating Venture to walk & play. Yesterday I bought some squeaky toys, which she found annoying at first. I can't really tell how much she hears by now, probably a little, but she might be have been startled by the sight or even smell of these new toys. Anyway she gave a bark and a growl.
Today we'll give it another try. In the meantime Jessie is very interested in these new toys, so I'll let her have her fun with them:-)
I don't know if I already wrote this, but this beautiful puppy stole my heart and I love her very much 3>. People around me ask me if I don't want to keep her. Of course I do, but I started breeding for a couple of reasons, and one is that I want to share this beautiful breed with others. Keeping them is not going to achieve this:-) And I know she will get the best family possible, who will love her and take care of her with all their heart. And that's what's the most important.

Twice during the night Jessie is still feeding Venture. Most of the times Venture wakes up, starts to whine a little because she is hungry and I ask or motivate Jessie to come and feed her kid. Venture sleeps with her stuffed animals or when this is too warm for her, she just sleeps without anything. Jessie sleeps with me on the day bed so I can keep a close eye on both Jessie and pup.
it's pretty exhausting and I am happy I have my job here so during the day I can get some power naps:-)

Yesterday we had the other dogs visiting Venture. Jane who was alone with her for 15 minutes or so couldn't get enough of Venture. Licking, nose bumping, kisses, etc, etc. It was very sweet to see them interact.
Mojo just came to check on and sniff her. Jessie came also to check on what Mojo was doing:-))
Mijne & Evie also visited but they were in and out so fast I hadn't has time to take pictures. Next time.
