How it all began?
We have had 4 White Shepherds in a period of 4.5 year. They came to us when they were a puppy and we started training with them from day one. Basics like sit, stay, down , etc are important for the pup to learn as soon as possible because knowing and obey to these basic cues makes going out in public fun, makes it more safe when not being dragged by your dog during a walk and might even save your puppies life one day.
Together with my husband Martijn (he's in the pictures!) I have years of experience going to different levels of obedience training. But with Mojo I also did nose work training. I have read a lot of (scientific based) books about how dogs think, how they learn and what their triggers are.
And about different forms of training of which training through positive reinforcement really ‘me’ is.

My training approach
Positive Reinforcement is about training the dog by rewarding the behavior you want him to do. And basically ignoring the behavior you don’t want to see so that the dog will stop eventually with this behavior. What is a reward? This can be a treat, a toy, a belly rub or kisses on the nose. It depends on what your dog finds the most rewarding.
By using positive reinforcement your dog will learn that listening to you, and follow your lead is rewarding, is fun. This training approach will help you strengthen your bond with your dog even more.
I don’t use e-collars, prong collars, or other pain inflicting methods. And I won’t tolerate this in my training class. If you don’t like this, I am not your trainer.

What do I offer?
General obedience and manners training
I help you to train your dogs or puppies general obedience and manners.
These are private sessions in your home. One dog/puppy at the time. Private sessions are usually scheduled for 45 minutes, once per week until the training goals are met with a minimum of 5 lessons. In the first lesson we will go through the 'intake form' that you filled prior to the first lesson. As part of the first lesson I also will explain my approach and the way dogs learn so that you get a good understanding why we train what we train and how we train it.
Private sessions are partly basic and partly customizable to fit your needs. Please fill in the intake form so that I can assess in what way I can help you best.
Depending on your needs your puppy will learn the basic cue’s like sit, stay, down, look, touch, calm leashing, walk loose leash, leave it, come and place.
If you also need some help with crate training, potty training, curb attention, not to jump, lick or other not so mannered behavior I can include this in the training session.
I also will teach you and your dog some skills how to manage situations that might otherwise get unsafe or out of control.

Customized training
It is of course possible that your dog already knows a lot of the basic obedience cues but you feel that he could use some repetition because some of the cues he doesn’t follow right away or is distracted very easily. Or you want to learn your dogs some tricks but you don’t know where to begin? Or I can help you and your dog on his way with nose work (trailing and/or detection). Or if you would like your dog to learn to retrieve a ball, a newspaper, or something else you like him to fetch, I can help. Please call me and I can see what I can do.
All training is based on positive reinforcement and it will be a fun way to get to know your puppy better and create a better bond between you and your dog.
