A New Chapter: Sunnyside White Shepherds Is Moving to Spain
For the past several years, Of Sunnyside Frolic White Flock has been located in the peaceful countryside of Virginia, USA. What began as our American dream became a life filled with dogs, nature, puppies, friendships, hard work, and unforgettable memories. But sometimes life opens a door we did not expect.
Due to changes in immigration laws and the fact that 'the government is dragging its feet on carrying out these laws', we are no longer able to operate our B&B as we had planned. Without the ability to work and generate income, we have had to make the very sad and difficult decision to leave behind our American dream.
So, we plan to relocate from the United States to Andalusia, Spain in 2026 — together with our six beloved White Swiss Shepherds: Mojo, Mijne, Jessie, Jane, Evie, and Sien.
And yes… the whole pack is coming too. 🐾
Our hope is to settle in or near the beautiful region of Iznájar, where we plan to continue our small-scale, ethical breeding program, hopefully starting again in 2027.But because we live in uncertain times we might have to postpone our move and then we can welcome one more litter here at Sunnyside this Fall/Winter (2026). News regarding this litter you can find HERE.
Why Spain?
Spain offers something that feels right for both us and our dogs: space, nature, a slower way of living, outdoor life, and many opportunities to spend time outside with the pack.
The White Swiss Shepherd is a breed that thrives when living closely with its family. Our dogs are not kennel dogs. They live inside our home, are part of our daily life, and are raised with structure, affection, socialization, and real-world experiences. That philosophy will not change in Spain.
If anything, we hope our future life in Andalusia will give our dogs, and future puppies, even more freedom, adventures, and natural surroundings.
Continuing Our FCI Breeding Program in Spain
Of Sunnyside Frolic White Flock remains committed to:
✅ FCI bloodlines
✅ Health-tested parent dogs
✅ Stable, family-friendly temperaments
✅ Ethical breeding practices
✅ Limited litters
✅ Lifelong support for puppy families
We are currently researching Spanish breeding laws, registration requirements, and kennel regulations, so that we can continue our breeding program responsibly and correctly in Spain.
Our breeding plans are expected to continue in 2027, after we are fully settled.
Looking for a White Swiss Shepherd Puppy in Spain?
We know that finding an ethical breeder can sometimes be difficult. Our goal is to offer future puppy families in Spain and nearby European countries:
🐾 Well-socialized puppies raised inside the home
🐾 European FCI pedigrees
🐾 Careful puppy matching
🐾 Honest communication
🐾 Guidance before and after purchase
🐾 Puppies raised with Early Neurological Stimulation, early socialization, and early life education
We speak English and Dutch fluently.
My Spanish is still improving 😊 — but we are learning every day.
