Colorful litter d.o.b. 11/18/25
parents Mojo & Evie
4 males & 1 female

Why “Colorful”?

Because color is more than pigment—it is feeling.

These White Swiss Shepherd puppies arrive in pure white coats, but their spirits will burst with colorful personalities: bold reds, thoughtful blues, joyful yellows, mysterious purples, and peaceful greens. Each pup reveals a new shade of devotion and depth, reminding us that color lives within.
Their names will honor emotion and character rather than outward appearance. Each carries a unique color-inspired identity, promising to bring warmth and brightness to their forever homes.

Even in white, they live in color.

Week 9 January 23, 2026. It has been a while since I put something up here about the Colorful Litter. It has been hectic, emotional also and I had to work on new breeding stuff. Anyway, long story short: puppies Gray (Dutch), Black (Niko), Pink (Idgie) and Green (Bear) have been going to their new homes last week. An emotional good bye, maybe farewell even. A lot of tears were shed. Also mama Evie and puppy Blue who is still with us, needed time to adjust to the empty 'nest'.

But before they left the puppies were seen by the vet (in week 7) and declared healthy. He loved how they looked, their beautiful pigment, eyes and ears clean, good working joints, etc. They got micro-chipped and vaccinated with their first DHPP shot. After that, having the microchip numbers at hand, I registered the puppies as White Swiss Shepherds with the FCI Puerto Rico.

In that same week my friend with her two youngest came again and the kids and me walked with all puppies on leash (in two shifts that is). It was a great experience for all of us.
Mama Evie was more and more reluctant to give milk, probably because of the sharp teeth so the puppies relied more on kibble.

We did a couple of car rides, which went well and the puppies had a lot of time to play together, which they loved. Black & Green were play buddies, as well as Pink & Blue. Gray was always switching from one team to the other team:-)

In week 8, on Tuesday Mr. Black (now Niko) was the first one to go. He lives with his new family and the dogs Mica & Zoe in Northern Virginia, so I'll probably see him again. On Wednesday, Mr. Green (now Bear) left with his new 'daddy' and he will live in Colorado. Mr. Gray (now Dutch) went on Friday to live with his new family and Lars the cat near the beach in Massachusetts. Also on Friday Miss Pink (Idgie) left with her new 'mom' to live in Ohio and I'll probably see her again.

Now we still have Mr. Blue who I enrolled in the Sunnyside Puppy LifeStart Academy. This fantastic and handsome puppy will be ready soon for the right family. You can find more information about Mr. Blue and our education program HERE.

And now all puppies have gone to the new chapter in their lives I come to an end writing about this beautiful and wonderful Colorful Litter. I am very pleased with litter: beautiful in and out. And will for sure repeat a litter from Mojo and Evie.

Thank you for following and cheering the Colorful Litter!
Sunday, December 28, 2025, my colorful litter almost six weeks old! It’s been an incredible journey so far. Of course, the puppies grow rapidly. They’re becoming less dependent on their mother’s milk, and gradually, they’ve transitioned to soaked kibble topped with puppy wet food and green lipped mussel. Sometimes, I also give them some Bene Bac, a probiotic that helps ease their transition from milk to kibble.

They’re going outside for potty breaks more often, especially when it comes to pooping. Almost all their poops are now done outside. Of course, I have to ensure they get outside in time, which is more challenging during the night.

The puppies have moved to a bigger puppy pen with their mother’s crate, which they occasionally use to sleep in. They’ve also walked on leashes (for a video click HERE) a few times and are getting used to the buggy ride. They also met all the chickens. My long-legged chickens, whom I bought the same day the pups were conceived, have been free-ranging for a couple of days now. They’re running, flying, and doing all sorts of silly things to captivate the puppies.

The past few weeks have been filled with puppy visits. Keri and her family came with my first pup, Venture. Kimberly visited for a second time, bringing the rest of her family along. Yesterday, Rebecca came with two of her great-grandnephews. They all met the parents, Mojo and Evie, also.
Christmas came and went, but we were able to do a foto shoot under the Christmas tree. The best fotos we used for this years Christmas & New Years wishes.
Behind the scenes of the Christmas fotoshoot
Coming week we'll have another friend with her two youngest coming over for a puppy visit, the puppies will gradually transition to kibble, more leash walking, buggy rides and hopefully a car ride as well. And of course we continue with sounds, massage, cuddling, big dog playing, nail clipping, etc.
Thursday December 18, 2025 Colorful litter one month old today
So much is going on in these puppies lives that it's hard to catch up. Anyways, puppies started with (very liquid) mush and gradually going to more solid mush. You can watch a video with them eating mush HERE. Yesterday the puppies went outside for the first time. They were very interested especially in the many leaves (make funny noises). Mama Evie took the risk to also enter the 'puppy pen' but because the puppies saw in her 'food' they stalked her and eventually Evie escaped:-))) For video of their first time outside watch HERE. Today they went out again and now with a tunnel to explore. They were not really interested, but that will come once they get use to being outside. Three puppies did for the first time in their lives their business outside, so I was very proud of course:-))) You can watch this outing HERE.

This week we will try to go outside as often as possible, but it'll rain as well, so we have to see. We'll make sure the puppies will get exposed to more box novelties, sounds like sirens, fire works, barking dogs, door bell, etc. We keep handling the puppies daily and have them out of the box from time to time to interact with the other dogs and both our cats.

This weekend Venture's (our first pup) family will come and visit with the pups. And of course I am going to see my special, my first, puppy again. So I am very excited. Also puppy buyer and friend Kimberly will visit for a second time, now with her other daughter.

Next week it's Christmas and there will be more changes and special things planned for these wonderful puppies. Stay tuned.
Thursday December 11, 2025 Today we had our first puppy visit for the Colorful litter. They drove all the way down from Charlottesville to meet the puppies, Mojo & Evie and us. It was wonderful: the puppies did so good! They were calm, sleepy and were just fine with all the attention. They also did pee at places were they where not suppose to, but can you blame them, first time they were removed from their whelping box and first time they met other humans then Martijn and me. They will come again soon:-) I am planning to have a puppy visit next weekend and the weekend after. Hopefully friends from town will come also.
December 8, 2025 Today the magnificent 5 are three weeks old. They are around 2.5 kg, Mr. Black is the heaviest but not the tallest, and they look like a dog more and more. Ears are opening, eyes are open or opening. ENS/ESI are done. Except for the 'Supine position" they did really good. All scents where received with curiosity, some kept them occupied and even lick their lips. Some where like 'okay, not really interesting'. Last couple of days I exposed them to some loud noises. They are pretty cool about them: keep sleeping, waking but that's it or being awake already but not seemed bothered.

They love to cuddle and it's so great to see that they seem to recognize me. I have a designated area for them to potty and they started to pee on the pee pads more and more. Mama is also still cleaning after them. Their teeth are showing, more & more every day. I have some toys they can use to chew on when their teething bothers them. At the end of this week I'll start with mush and hopefully they will be weaned completely in week 5 or 6. They've met all the other dogs, and I handle them daily: touching their ears, eyes, mouth (gums), paws (did second time front paw nail clipping), tail, belly and legs. I'll start this week also with exposure to different (youtube) noises, like fireworks, cars, thunder, etc.

These little creatures have stolen my heart. I could be with them 24/7.

Mama Evie is also doing wonderful, still very protective and cleaning them rigorously. Coming Thursday we'll have our first puppy visit. The puppies will be moved to the B&B for this purpose. It's good for them to learn about other surfaces and other people. I am looking s forward to this and see how they will do.
Saturday December 6, 2025 (18 days old)
Yesterday (December 5) we celebrated Sinterklaas which is a kid of Christmas in The Netherlands. I made a video you can watch HERE.
And I made new portraits. See above.
Wednesday December 3, 2025 Reveal of fifth and last pedigree name:

Comebye Lucky Clover (Mr. Green) represents a dog who moves with natural grace and intelligence (Comebye), and brings luck, joy, and harmony (Lucky Clover) wherever he goes.

This name suits a puppy who is:
  • Cheerful
  • Soft-hearted
  • Playful but intuitive
  • Naturally connected to his humans
  • A little “good fortune” wrapped in fur
It blends working-dog heritage with nature symbolism and warm, positive energy.

All pedigree names will end with our Kennel name. For example: Comebye Lucky Clover Of Sunnyside FWF

Tuesday December 2, 2025

Two weeks old today. Eyes are all open. Almost all puppies are walking. And we have another pedigree name to be revealed:

Classic Royal Blue represents a timeless, elegant dog with noble bearing and a loyal, steady heart — a true royal companion wrapped in the cool strength of blue.

This name suits a White Swiss Shepherd who is:
  • Confident but gentle
  • Majestic in movement
  • Deeply loyal
  • Intuitive and intelligent
  • Calm and emotionally steady
Monday December 1, 2025

Another pedigree reveal:

Café Latte Je t’aime
(Mr. Black) evokes the image of a warm, loving, serene companion
whose gentle presence brings comfort — much like a cup of creamy latte shared with someone you love.

A perfect name for a White Swiss Shepherd with:
✔ a soft look
✔ warm temperament
✔ affectionate nature
✔ and a deep bond with their humans.
Sunday November 30, 2025, 12 days old

Every day these beauties are growing and their eyes (and probably their ears too) are trying to open. It's such a wonder. They are also trying to stand and walk, but that looks still more like a couple of drunken sailors then anything else:-))) Mr. White is now Mr. Blue which is more appropriate for being part of the Colorful litter, I think.

Evie is also doing great, she eats for 10, and she's fully back with the pack playing ball and running around. She still is protective over the little ones, but I am trying to have Jessie with the pups one of these days. Because Jessie is Evie's best friend she'll welcome her with her pups.

We did have 'beschuit met muisjes' which is tradition in the Netherlands when a baby is born, we get a sort of biscuit with a little butter and Anise sprinkles, either pink for a girl or blue for a boy. Because we have both we had to eat at least two 'beschuitjes':-)))

And we also continue daily with ENS and ESI + daily picking up, touching around ears, mouth, paws, nose, belly, etc. I also clipped their toenails, especially the front paws because they can hurt mama while drinking from the milk bar.

I also have the pups pedigree names ready, and revealed two already (see video of today):

Cherie Mighty Imogene (Miss Pink, Idgie) reflects a beloved and gentle spirit (Cherie), strong and courageous in heart (Mighty), graced with timeless purity and elegance (Imogene).
This name suits a female White Swiss Shepherd who embodies:
  • Sweet affection
  • Strength of character
  • Intelligent serenity
  • Radiant inner beauty

Cruzin' Cloud Nine (Mr. Gray) expresses a free-spirited soul gliding joyfully through life — peaceful as a cloud, blissful as the feeling of being on cloud nine.
It’s the name of a dog who radiates calm optimism, whose presence feels like sunshine after rain — pure, bright, and uplifting.
Perfect for a White Swiss Shepherd who is:
  • Easygoing and affectionate
  • Loves movement and open spaces
  • Always seems happy and relaxed
  • Has a gentle, dreamy energy

The other three names will be revealed coming week. So stay tuned. There are still males available, so if interested please complete the puppy questionnaire and I'll contact you asap.
Tuesday November 25, 2025 puppies are now one week old
Already one week old today! Sleep, drink, crawl, pee, this is basically their daily routine. And of course weighting, lots of cuddles, belly rubs and ENS/ESI. Mama was having a little problem with eating enough food, but luckily with some yummy puppy wet food, she seems back on track. They puppies grow and grow. Miss Pink (calling name Idgie) is the heaviest but her brothers are not far behind. The all doubled their birth weight, which is wonderful and are now almost 1 kilo. Another rule of thumb is that as of today the puppies will gain one kilogram every week, give or take.

Today I also made portraits of all 5 rascals with Thanksgiving theme. They had a hard time to lay still and Mr. Gray even wanted to eat part of the decor, but it sure was fun to do. Also mama Evie came to have a look.
Friday November 21, 2025 puppies are now 4 days old
The puppies are doing very well. They've been drinking, sleeping, crying and crawling. Mama Evie takes care of them like a champ. The puppies are now all more then 600 grams of which the female is the heaviest:-))) On day 3, yesterday, I started with ENS and ESI. They all were pretty calm and content when I performed ENS. I am very proud of this little pack. For the scent I chose nutmeg, which is always my first scent I present to the new born puppies. All 5 were very focused and sniffing right away. It's such a joy to see the nose at work.

The rest of the pack settled also right in the new routine. Especially Jane, Jessie & Sien are very interested in what is going on in the whelping pen. Because Evie is still getting adjusted to being a mama, we keep them separated for now.

Today I put two stuffed toys in the box, one that has been a box companion from the time we had our first litter (one pup) Venture. And so this stuffed animal is now called Venture as well. The other stuffed animal is a dolphin. It a first time whelping box toy, so let's see how that goes.
Tuesday November 18, 2025, day 60: Puppies are born: 4 males and 1 female!!!
The puppies have arrived! Born yesterday November 18. Four boys and one girl. There was another girl but sadly she was stillborn. The first, Mr. Black was born at 7:10 AM and the last puppy, the girl was born 1:40 PM. I did however hope or thought there might be more, so we waited until late last night before we definitely knew that there were no more puppies to be born.

It was a very emotional day for all of us, especially because we had one stillborn puppy, who was perfect, just like her brothers and sister.

Evie is doing great and she’s a wonderful mama. Keeping a close eye on her puppies and making sure that they get enough milk. This morning I weighted them all and they all gained weight! So I am very happy with that. These first couple of weeks we monitor their weight daily to make sure that they stay healthy.
Monday November 17, 2025, day 59
Evie is doing very well. She still is active and happy. On Sunday night she had a temperature drop, so I prepared myself for a long night with Evie getting into labor. But no, it was a false alarm. She does have all the signs that her puppies will be born soon though: nesting, barely eating, panting and some clear discharge. I am keeping a close eye on her, and making sure she's as comfortable as she can be.

Thursday November 13, 2025, day 55
Evie is doing great. She seems to get used to having puppies in her belly, and she pants & licks less. You can really see that her belly is almost at it's max, puppies are only growing in this phase, and her food intake is till good, however she prefers to eat smaller portions. Sometimes I feel the puppies moving, but Evie doesn't really like me touching or feeling for the puppies so I keep that to a minimum.
Since Tuesday I keep track of her temperature, but there is no drop, suggesting that her labor is near, yet. Evie is queen of the whelping box and her little gated space. Only Jessie is tolerated in her domain. She rests a lot, but is also still active, although she is tired sooner.
Tomorrow, her last week of gestation begins and we can expect her puppies any time soon now. Keep our fingers crossed all goes smoothly.
Not very comfy maybe? But she'll be okay.
Today (11/10/25) Evie is on day 52. She sleeps a lot, and her belly is growing. She gets used to the whelping box and it's her new sleeping place. Her hormones are racing through her body and she especially doesn't tolerate Mijne & Jane around her anymore. Sien is 'so so' and Mojo & Jessie are still okay for her. Today I had to run some errands and took her and Jessie with me. I think she enjoyed it as long as I was in the car.
Picture
On Wednesday (11/5) Evie  had an ultrasound and we saw at least 5 puppies!!! We're overjoyed that we will have puppies within two weeks. For a short video of the ultrasound, click here.

On Thursday 11/6 we rearranged our living room completely so that Evie has the best own little corner for her whelping box. And now we just have to wait and see when the puppies will arrive.

Sept 19, 2025 - November  5, 2025

Evie's behavior is changing. She becomes more clingy and she sleeps more. She also distances herself from the others and you can find her sleeping or laying under the dining table often. Her belly is growing and also her appetite which was less in the beginning. She must be pregnant. She still runs and catches the balls, and so I decided that as from the beginning of her third semester to limit her ball play. More walks alone with her, on leash and only play find & fetch ball.
Picture
Sept 6, 2025 - Sept. 19, 2025

Evie's heat started. On day 12 and 13 of her heat cycle she and Mojo had some unsuccessful dates. So I had her progesterone measured by the vet. It turned out that her progesterone was already pretty high and ovulation had started. That afternoon Mojo & Evie had a successful date (day 14, September 19, 2025. The days after that they got plenty of opportunities but none were successful:-(
