MY HEALTH AND SCREENING RULES

Both parents must be in possession prior to mating of the following health results:  • Hip dysplasia (HD) • Elbow dysplasia (ED) • Multidrug Resistance 1 gene defect (MDR-1) • Degenerative Myelopathy SOD1 (DM)

MY BREEDING RULES

The male:

• On the day of mating, the male must be at least 18 months of age.
• The male may have a maximum of 4 successful covers per year with a total of up to 40 successful coverages. Successful coverage is a coverage that includes at least one live puppy and is registered with the FCI. When semen from the male dog is used for artificial insemination (AI), these AI matings equal to natural mating.
  

The female:

• may not be mated to her grandfather, her father, her brother, her half-brother, her son or her grandson.
• is allowed to be mated to one extra male within the same heat.
  
• may not be mated before the day on which she reaches the age of 20 months.
• from which puppies have not been born before, may not be bred after the day on which she reaches the age of 72 months (6 years).
• from which puppies have been born before, may no longer be bred after the day on which she reaches the age of 96 months (8 years).
  
• may no longer be bred after the day on which her fifth litter is born.
  
• may only be bred every other heat cycle.
  
• may no longer be bred after the day on which two times a litter by caesarean section is born.
  

Dogs may be used in the following combinations:

• Hips: HD-A x HD-A and HD-A x HD-B (HD-A = Excellent/Good; HD-B = Good/Fair)
• Elbows: ED 0/0 x ED 0/0 and ED 0/0 x ED 0/1 or ED 1/1 (0 = normal, 1 = grade 1)
• MDR-1, at least one parent is MDR-1 +/+ (clear)
  
• DM, at least one parent is DM N/N (clear)
  
• Dogs with the following results may not be used for the breeding:
  • HD-C / HD-D / HD-E (C: Bordeline/Mild D: Mild/Moderate E: Moderate/Severe)
    
  • ED Grade 2 / ED Grade 3

• With dogs suffering from one or more of the following disorders will not be bred: Epileps, Exocrine pancreatic insufficienc, one or both sides deafness.
  
• With dogs suffering from a disease or abnormality that is considered chronic and/or hereditary in veterinary standards, will not be bred.
  

Character requirements

• Both parents must meet the character requirements as set out in the FCI breed standard.
• A mandatory behavior test does not apply to this breed.

I don’t breed with dogs that have one or more of the following, according to the FCI standard, disqualifying or exclusive faults:

• Fear, aggressiveness
• One or both eyes blue, bulging eyes
• Entropion, ectropion
• Complete loss of pigment of the nose, lip and/or eye edges
• Complete loss of pigment from skin and soles of the feet
• Albinism
• Cryptorchid and monorchid males
