It’s Christmas time and so not only we humans are eating a little bit more and a little bit sweeter than usual, also the dogs get their fair share.
Normally our dogs get some healthy treats during the day. They get carrots, apple, blueberries, peaces of turkey or cooked vegetables like pumpkins and broccoli. But now they also get some cookies!!! I found a really great recipe on internet for peanutbutter oats cookies. Because it’s in Dutch also the amounts are in grams. You have to translate it to cups if you don’t have a scale with grams. Sorry. Ingredients: Banana, 1 piece. Peanut butter, 110 grams. (Preferably from 100% peanuts (so without added sugars, oils, color-, fragrance- and flavorings) and NO xylitol (VERY dangerous for dogs). Oat flakes, 190 grams. Oatmeal is also allowed. Preheat the oven to 360F Then prepare the dough like this: Take the 190 grams of oat flakes and grind them with your blender until there is a fine flour. Take the banana and crush it in a bowl. Add the 110 grams of peanut butter. Mix into a compact ball. Then knead the newly ground oat flour through the banana- peanut butter mixture. This way you have a sturdy dough ball. Roll the dough ball a little flatter with a rolling pin or a beer bottle. Now take out a small piece of dough and make a cookie.Any form will do. Put everything you have' on a baking sheet covered with parcement paper. Then cook the cookies in a oven on 360F for 20 minutes. And oh yes, let it cool down before giving them to your dog. Eet smakelijk!!!
